I read his books on lunch break a few months ago and he's complaining probably 90% of the time about losing to Goldberg and not being WWF Champion immediately. Possibly the most annoying wrestler. He really couldn't of been treated better in either league yet it still wasn't good enough for him.

Making him champ was really more about making THE GAME. They wanted to make Trips the face of WWE, a massive babyface, THE FUCKING GAME, and nobody bought it.

I wouldn't go that far. Triple H was always in way better shape than the other main event guys at the time so its very believable to me for him to have been a multi-time world champion. He was never as good as Undertaker or Angle but he was a good choice and it seems to be forgotten now just how much people loved him in 99.
