What's your opinion on perscribed drugs and/or illegal drugs. Are they ruining the lives of millions of people and what about all the crime associated with illegal drugs.
Thoughts please.

Legal, but you need a prescription. I take prescription drugs and I quite like them.

I'd come under regulation myself, having had first hand experience with drugs. (cannabis, cough medicine) Drugs under moderation, are a good idea because death rates will fall as long as no one abuses the priveledge. Not to mention that Heroin was used in hospitals before Morphine & they basically have the same effect, (I've tried neither) I'm all for painkilling Heroin as long as it's in moderation, it's clean & provided in a safe environment & no one abuses it.
Cannabis is a drug, that almost everyone on the globe knows about & perhaps one of the more important types, having being linked with alleviation of Arthritis & MS symptoms. Maybe a possible link to curing cancer will be found using herbal remedies such as cannabis. Again I'm all for Cannabis to be medicinal, as long as it's NHS/Government grown & not sprayed with all sorts because that's when side effects occur (such as headaches, blocked/runny nose & smokers cough.)

Wasn't Heroin used as an alternative to Morphine? I've had Morphine ~ it was fun.

Definitely. There are some ones out there that can really fuck people up, but legal or illegal, addicts will still get the drugs. Legalizing them means prisons will hold killers and rapists, not drug dealers and drug addicts. Not to mention people buy a shit load of drugs. With how horrible the economy (atleast in America) is still doing this also creates jobs and gets people buying things.
Boost to the economy, medical benefits and makes needed room in prisons for people who actually deserve to go there instead of wasting that room on drug related issues. I definitely think atleast weed will be legalized in the U.S. while Obama is president, hopefully he'll go father into it than that but it doesn't seem like he will.

Some families might suffer whilst family members are under the influence of drugs though. The points you have made do have validity.

Well, a big big problem I see is the "Stealing a cookie from the cookie jar philosophy". That is, by giving some illegal drugs such a bad name, and working so hard to make them seem wrong, you might actually turn some people on to drugs. Its kind of a teenage rebellion thing, I guess. But from my own personal experience, I know for a fact its true from what a few of my friends have told me.
But will legalizing the drugs fix that? Maybe a little, but it kind of puts in a hit on the decency of society, and that whole thing. Decency meaning, how clean and regulated, for the better, the country in question is (After all, Cocaine was legal once, than they found out how harmful it was, and made it illegal). So if we legalize all the drugs, than we will probably have a bunch of drug heads running around like crazy buffoons!
Also, in a state like California, the economy of the state is severely crashing, and needs a lot of support. if Marijuana was legalized and taxed, that would be better than any bail out the government could give. So yes I definitely agree that legalizing certain drugs would work out, under a lot of regulation.
Also, for Bo~! I think that whole influence on the family you mean, would kind of be negated if the person taking the drug took it legally and under good regulation. Like, only when they get badly addicted do they act very bad (Although, some drugs will make you do some bad things on even the first try)

I know from personal experience that drugs can have an instant effect. A few personal experiences.
Would people be using what are now recreational drugs more if they were legal? You would probably think so. Though I do think that there is quite a big awareness as to how damaging drugs can be and that there still will be a lot of people that would avoid them. If heroin became legal tomorrow, I'm most likely not going to be shooting it up in the bathroom ~ I'll be shooting it up in the back shed. Lawl kidding. Yeah, I'm not going to start using.

I wouldn't use illegal drugs EVER and I can honestly say that. I'd only use medicine if I needed it if I was sick. Drugs do more damage than good. Look at all the crime that goes with it. Murder and theft go hand in hand with drugs.

Do you mean that murders and theft do happen over drugs or that that people do those things under the influence of drugs?

Both. There have been gangland muders here all about drugs and lots of crime happens when people are under the influence of drugs. For example rape, criminal damage etc..

I think that they might already have that demon inside of them before they use the drugs.

Well, wouldn't that support legalizing some drugs? I mean, other than prison, I don't know many people who have been raped over a cigarette.

Cigarettes are legal anyone can buy them. I know someone who was beaten up badly because he hadn't a lighter. So see it still causes trouble.
